교과목개요
This course is supposed to be offered mainly for the senior students majoring Chinese & Chinese literature, who are willing to further study Chinese and Korean literature through the lecture and discussion given in English.
This course named "A Comparative Study of Korean and Chinese Literature" mainly aims to advance the investigation of Chinese literature and culture through comparing it with its Korean counterpart, because China and Korea have maintained close historical and cultural ties as geographic neighbors. This course emphasizes the following three aspects. Firstly, this course explains similarities and differences in structure and contents from a synchronic perspective. Secondly, this course further accounts for their individual characteristics and common ideas by comparing them to corresponding worldwide literature. Finally, this course generally deal with myths as a literary origin; poetry, fiction, prose and modern literature as a literary genre; philosophy and culture; exchange of culture between two countries and so on. The students are expected to improve their intellectual level on Chinese and Korean culture, and to practice more discussion in English as well by this comparative literature course.

주요 학습내용 및 수업진행방법
기본적으로 수업진행 방식은 강의식이지만, 중간중간 학생들이 지정된 토론 주제를 사전에 준비하여 발표, 토론하는 방식도 취한다.
