교과목개요
본 강좌는 품질개선이라는 접근방법을 사용하여 경영형상들을 분석한다. 주요 내용으로는 공정관리도, 품질기능전개, 로버스트 제품설계, 포카요케, 데밍 접근법, 볼드리지 품질상, 품질비용, 작업자 임파워먼트 및 보상시스템 등이다. 또한 성공적인 품질개선을 이룬 성공적 기업들의 사례를 분석하여 비즈니스 프로세스에서 품질관리의 중요성에 대해서도 논의한다.
교수목표
1. 경쟁무기로서 전략적 품질경영의 중요성을 수강생이 인식하도록 유도함
2. 전략적 품질경영과 관련된 원리와 개념 및 방법론을 수강생이 이해하도록 유도함
3. 전략적 품질경영과 다양한 경영학 과목들과의 관계를 수강생이 이해할 수 있도록 유도함
4. 현재 Hot Issue가 되고 있는 전략적 품질경영 기법을 소개함
주요 학습내용 및 수업진행방법
- In-class exercises: In-class activities may be due at the end of the class period and may not be made up or turned in later.
- Quizzes: Quizzes may be un-announced. The purpose is to assess your understanding on the contents that were just explained in class or to assed your preparedness for the pre-assigned readings. Quizzes may not be made up or turned in later.
- Homework: Homework assignments include group projects, individual homework, and online multiple-choice homework. Online homework will not be available after due dates.

Top 25% in this class will receive A+ or A0.
Next 35% will receive B+ or B0.
Next 30% will receive C+ or C0.
Bottom 10% will receive D+, D0, or F.

The exams are closed-book, but you may bring one hand-written 3X5 index card. Each exam will be a combination of multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, short essays, and problem solving. The exam will include materials covered in the lectures, assignments, text, and videos. The final exam is not cumulative.
Bring a calculator because PDA’s and cell phones are not allowed. There will be no make-up exams.
