교과목개요
The numerical methods are of importance in solving the natural science and engineering problems. Various fundamental numerical methods are dealt with in this course, including several practical applications. The theories and computer codes, which will be offered, must be usefully used in solving various problems encountered in marine engineering field. In this course, following subjects are to be dealt :
1. Solutions of equations of one variable
2. Interpolation and polynomial approximation
3. Numerical integration and differentiation
4. Solution methods for linear systems
5. Numerical solution methods of fferential equations
6. Regression analysis
In addition, about five reports will be given to the students, which is aimed at enhancing the application ability of basic knowledge about numerical analysis, and computer programming.

주요 학습내용 및 수업진행방법
각 주제에 해당되는 교재의 내용에 충실히 따라 강의를 진행한다. 각 주제별 이론 부분에 대한 설명과 예제 그리고 교육용으로 작성한 컴퓨터 프로그램을 소개하고 응용부분에 대해 설명한다. 강의는 멀티미디어 강의 매체를 이용해서 이루어지며, 보고서 작성에 관한 내용 등 강의 보조자료는 학부 홈페이지의 공개강의실에서 통해 Down Load 받을 수 있다.
학습 성과 평가방법
(1) 아래의 기준에 의거하여 학점이 부여된다.
- 시험 (중간, 기말) : 60%
- 수시시험 (퀴즈) : 20% (중간 및 기말고사 전 각 1회당 10%)
- Report & Oral Test : 20%
(2) 출석율은 점수로 반영되지는 않으나, 결석율이 1/3 이상인 학생은 자동적으로 F학점으로 처리된다.
